The Role of Women's Leadership in Making the Arab Media Forum (AMF) Successful

The Arab Media Forum (AMF) was launched for the first time in 2001. The Forum is an initiative that enables a group of media professionals from all over the world to meet to discuss current media issues and exchange experiences and perspectives that would push the Arab media scene towards development and benefit from the opinions of experts. Women's Organization The Arab Media Forum (AMF) is an annual event held in the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and is one of the most prominent projects of the Dubai Press Club. The organization was supervised by a women's team consisting of Mona Ghanem Al Marri, President of the Dubai Press Club, United Arab Emirates. She is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Dubai Women's Establishment, the Secretary General of the Arab Press Award, the Vice President of the Dubai Ladies Club, the Director General of the Media Office of the Government of Dubai, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Media Incorporated, and Member of the Executive Committee of the Emirates Branch for Young Arab Leaders. She began her career, shortly after her graduation, as a Public Relations and Media Coordinator with the founding team of the Dubai Shopping Festival. In 2003, Al Marri supervised the establishment of the first women club in Dubai and was a member of the judging panel for the semi-finals of the International Emmy Awards for Asia and Africa in Dubai in 2002. She was awarded the title of "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum in 2014, and Forbes Middle East magazine ranked her among the "30 most influential Arab women in the government sector" in the region in 2013. In addition, she gained the title of "Outstanding Entrepreneur in the Middle East" by the BPO World Forum in New York in 2008. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1996 from the Higher Colleges of Technology. In addition to Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club, played a pivotal role in supervising the overall organization of the Forum.  Prior to assuming the duties of managing the Dubai Press Club in 2017, Buhumaid assumed the position of Executive Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Dubai Development Authority, then Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Prime Minister’s Office, and then to the Emirates Competitiveness Council, and then Director of Corporate Communications at the Dubai Women’s Foundation On the educational level, she holds a doctorate in comprehensive quality management from Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University, a master’s degree in innovation and entrepreneurship, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is a graduate of the “Future Leaders” program and the “Global Women Leaders” program in Washington.
